2019 marks the 10th year of service to the Charlotte community for JazzArts Charlotte, formerly Jazz Arts Initiative. We are proud to continue our work as the premiere jazz organization in Charlotte with our focus on community enrichment through quality music education, live performances, and musician support.

In the past decade JazzArts Charlotte has grown into one of Charlotte’s most celebrated non-profit arts and education institutions. Our goal is to continue to serve this treasured community for many years to come.

There is nothing more American than Fourth of July fireworks, “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and jazz. Indeed, celebrating the country is done best alongside America’s only original art form. As we celebrate America's 250th Birthday lets take a look at the role jazz has played in the celebration of our country and how it has evolved over the years.

JazzArts Academy Student Spotlight: Gabby

JazzArts is honored to share that clarinetist and JazzArts All-Star Gabby Farinas won the highly distinguished Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Scholarship. “Everything I’ve learned and done in the United States in music has been thanks to JazzArts, and everything I’ve gotten to do it’s because JazzArts has guided me through it. Along the way, the 2026-27 Season brings Havana-born percussionist and vocalist Pedrito Martinez, vocalist and storyteller René Marie, and many more.
