Jazz In Schools Programs

Bring JazzArts Charlotte to Your School

With education and outreach programs designed to engage everyone from school age children to adults, we serve as a resource for schools, young musicians and the community.

If your school would like to discuss a way we may be able to support your music program needs virtually or in person, we’d love to hear from you.

For more information or to schedule a program at your school, fill out this brief questionnaire, and our Program Coordinator will get back to you to discuss program details.

General Education

Let the professional teaching artists from JazzArts Charlotte join you and your students for an interactive educational program in your school. Our age-appropriate assembly programs are tailored for elementary, middle or high school students with no music background required. These exciting and informative 45-90 minute performance presentations include audience participation and a question and answer session for students and teachers!

Program examples include:

  • Jazz the American Journey (K-12)
  • The Blues:  How American Music Grew Up (K-8)
  • Jazz: Democracy and Freedom (8-12)

Master Classes and Coaching

Our expert JazzArts teaching artists will visit with middle and high school band groups to work directly with students to improve their overall performance, with emphasis on jazz improvisation, active listening, musicianship, and American music history.
