JazzArts Charlotte wins Charlotte Magazine BOB Award 2nd year in a row, and third year in total, for its monthly JAZZ ROOM shows. Over these years, the winning category has ranged from nonprofit arts recognition to simply a great place to go. This year’s award, however, is especially meaningful.

Since 2009, Jazz Arts Initiative has dedicated itself to improving and expanding the jazz music landscape in the Charlotte area. Now, as part of their year-long 10th anniversary celebration, the non-profit organization is rebranding as JazzArts Charlotte with plans for continued growth and expansion of its acclaimed signature jazz music and education programs.

During National Women’s History Month, the Jazz Arts Initiative celebrates the overlooked women heroes in the art world of jazz.

Charlotte’s Jazz Arts Initiative welcomes fall with Season 6 of its highly acclaimed monthly series – The JAZZ ROOM @ The Stage Door Theater.

Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) was created in 2001 by Dr. John Edward Hasse, curator at The Smithsonian’s Museum of American History.
