This week, JazzArts Charlotte and Curtis Davenport welcomes the entire UNCG Jazz Department to discuss a trumpet legend on his 94th birthday.

Tune in every Tuesday night to hear outstanding performers discuss their passions and projects with our own Curtis Davenport and you. Our interactive events are the perfect chance for you to engage with the artists who are usually up on the stage and who’ll be happy to take your questions.

Miles Davis is considered one of the most innovative, influential, and acclaimed figures in the history of music. “A pioneer of 20th-century music, leading many of the key developments in the world of jazz.” Miles Davis was the most widely recognized jazz musician of his era, with eight Grammy Awards and 32 nominations. He was an outspoken social critic and an arbiter of style—in attitude and fashion—as well as music.”

What better way to celebrate his musical genius than with the faculty at UNCG Miles Davis Jazz Studies Department.

Registration required for Zoom attendance.  You can also watch on Facebook Live.  If you have registered for prior Conversations with Curtis, you can use your zoom link for the entire series and do not need to reregister.
