December 12, 2021 @ 3:00 pm - 4:45 pm
After 12 weeks studying the world of jazz, enjoy an evening of favorite holiday and jazz standards performed by JazzArts Charlotte’s newest groups of middle and high school student jazz musicians plus their instructors.
Concert was premiered and is available on Facebook on demand – link here.
JazzArts Youth Ensembles is a season of weekly comprehensive music training for students motivated to delve into America’s original art form: jazz. Led by several of the region’s leading professional jazz educators, students have together discovered music theory, jazz history, and active listening. They have experienced playing the techniques of rhythm, chords, and improvisation that make up jazz. Now, they are excited to share with you the culmination of their work and fun.
Want to know what JazzArts Charlotte is most proud of? Come and see!
Families, friends and students are welcome to mingle at a post-concert reception immediately following the performance.
Thank you to our partners that make this week possible: Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, Infusion Fund, North Carolina Arts Council, Akers Foundation, & Ella Fitzgerald Foundation.
