An evening of favorite jazz standards performed by JazzArts Charlotte’s newest groups of middle and high school student jazz musicians plus their instructors.

JazzArts Youth Ensembles is a season of weekly comprehensive training for students motivated to delve into America’s original art form: jazz. Led by several of the region’s leading professional jazz educators, students have together experienced playing the techniques of rhythm, chords, and improvisation that make up jazz. Now, they are excited to share with you the culmination of their work and fun.

This performance is in conjunction with Levine Museum of the New South’s family day on May 15th – Museum on the Move Celebration. This free day of fun at the Levine, from noon to 5pm, was designed to honor the past and celebrate the future of Levine Museum and their final day at the current location with a full day of music and activities for all ages. Check out the full event.

Various JazzArts Youth Ensembles will be performing at 1:00 and at 3:00.

Many of these students played for Jazz Appreciation Day at Victoria Yards April 30. If you missed it, here’s your last chance!
