Internationally-renowned trumpeter and vocalist Mark Braud recently led the famous Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and now is the lead trumpeter seen on the daily hit television show “HARRY” with famed New Orleans jazz pianist and actor Harry Connick Jr. When he is not touring the globe, Braud is busy sharing his talents in television commercials, sound tracks, and recordings.
The JazzArts Music Camp is an exciting one-week comprehensive music training program for students, grades 7-12, devoted to America's original art form: JAZZ. Students will be immersed in an intensive jazz curriculum and have the opportunity to interact and play with other motivated young musicians from the Charlotte area. This jazz camp offers instruction from the nations’s leading professional jazz educators and internationally recognized performers. The JazzArts Music Camp curriculum includes: small combo performance, jazz improvisation, faculty concerts (each afternoon), jazz history and listening, jazz theory (basic to advanced), composition, master class instruction on bass, drums, guitar, piano, saxophone (all woodwinds), trombone and trumpet, and student jam sessions. ALL INSTRUMENTS ARE WELCOME. Special guest artists will join camp participants in a public concert performance at the end of camp. (Parents are encouraged to attend).
Students entering grades 7-12, with at least one (1) year experience in a school band or private music lessons are eligible.
Instruments: JazzArts Music Camp is open to saxophones (including ALL woodwind instruments), violins, trumpets, trombones, piano, bass, guitars, drums, and vocals.

Tuition and Financial Aid Scholarships
Tuition for the JazzArts Summer Music Camp is $295.
Admission and Audition Requirements: All applicants must perform an audition in front of members of the JazzArts Camp faculty and administration. Before a placement audition is scheduled, each student must submit a completed application for admission.
Tuition is due at the time of registration. Full payment may be made by check, money order or credit card. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express, with all payments running through a secure server.
