SUMMARY:Preservation Hall All-Stars FREE Jazz Youth Workshop
DESCRIPTION:November 30th\, 6:00pm-8pm at CPCC – Bryant Recital Hall\nJazzArts Charlotte welcomes The Preservation Hall All-Stars for a jazz educational workshop. As a way to deepen the interaction of our national jazz performing artists with the local music community\, JazzArts Charlotte welcomes student musicians from the Charlotte area and beyond to learn from these world-renowned jazz innovator. \nThis applied workshop is open to middle and high school-aged musicians\, with at least one year of experience on their instrument. All instruments are welcome – you are invited to bring it along. \nFREE. Registration required. \nThe Preservation Hall All-Stars are the premiere ensemble of the most tenured artists from the greater Preservation Hall musical collective. Each performer bears a unique connection to the earliest practitioners of jazz itself\, some by bloodline but all united by the sheer power of tradition. In addition to performing at the Hall weekly and internationally throughout the year\, these culture bearers continue to pass the torch to the younger generation through education and music outreach. \nThank you to the program sponsors and supporters\, who each bring jazz alive in Charlotte: Infusion Fund\, Knight Foundation\, Doris Duke Foundation\, North Carolina Arts Council\, Arts & Science Council and O’s Place Jazz.
