Holding an event isn’t free\, even if the audience cannot attend in person. \n  \nA jazz organ trio typically consists of a Hammond organ player\, a drummer\, and either a guitarist or saxophone player. Popular at clubs in the 1950s and 1960s\, they performed soul jazz\, a groove-infused style of blues\, gospel\, R&B\, and more recently jazz-rock fusion and jamband.\nThe versatility of the jazz organ can play several roles\, from basslines on the pedal\, to chords (“comping”)\, to lead melodic lines and solos.\nJazztimes gives us a top 10 list\, in case you ears want to study up for this Thursday. https://jazztimes.com/features/lists/jazztimes-10-classic-organ-jazz-albums/ \nSean Higgins\, pianist and composer\, is an international touring and recording artist acting as a musical ambassador to audiences worldwide. While classically trained; his own group offers a modern take on the jazz trio configuration. Higgins enjoys exploring many musical genres and has played keyboards in many commercial settings such as R&B\, pop\, and fusion. \nHiggins has opened for Dave Holland\, Fourplay\, Joe Lovano\, Talib Kweli\, Ryan Cohen\, and Stefon Harris and Blackout. He has enjoyed lengthy tours through the Middle East\, Russia\, Japan and China\, where me met his now wife.  Sean has played NYC clubs such as The Jazz Standard\, Smoke\, Dizzy’s\, Lenox Lounge\, and more. \nJazzArts Charlotte is proud to have Sean Higgins as both a performer in the JAZZ ROOM and instructor for JazzArts Academy. Sean has continued to actively engaged audiences and students across past several months\, and recently shared with JazzArts Charlotte virtually through Conversations with Curtis. \nYou can find Sean Higgins Jr. at SeanHiggins.net\, Facebook\, Instagram and Youtube.
