DESCRIPTION:Saturday March 15th\, 11:00am-1:00pm at The Stage Door Theater\nJazzArts Charlotte welcomes Camille Thurman for a jazz educational workshop. As a way to deepen the interaction of our national jazz performing artists with the local music community\, JazzArts Charlotte welcomes student musicians from the Charlotte area and beyond to learn from this world-renowned jazz innovator. \nThis applied workshop is open to middle and high school-aged musicians\, with at least one year of experience on their instrument. All instruments are welcome – you are invited to bring it along. \nFREE. Registration required. \nAs an accomplished composer\, esteemed saxophonist\, vocalist\, and unique interpreter of the jazz tradition\, she is quickly becoming one of the leading standard bearers of the art form. Her distinct musical approach to classic and original repertoire\, which highlights her craft as a powerhouse singer and instrumentalist\, is a captivating blend of tradition and innovation.
