In September, as a part of the Annual Festival in the Park, the Jazz Arts Initiative will present the JazzArts Music Stage. This event will offer opportunities for local performing groups from middle schools, high schools and colleges, as well as professional artists, to showcase their skills. Audiences will explore their cultural heritage and will mingle with performers who have discovered their passion for music and the diversity of the jazz arts.
The goal is to provide an opportunity for local and regional musicians, other jazz-related performing artists, and audiences to share in the celebration of community through jazz.
It is an opportunity to learn about the contributions of Charlotte and NC Jazz musicians through its Heritage Jazz Performances and Presentations.
Although focused on musical performance, the Jazz Arts Stage will also feature artists who gain inspiration from the music and its participants.
The Stage will showcase local and regional musicians as well as offer opportunities for Jazz education and exploration for young people and adults.
The Stage will showcase both professional and amateur performers.
The Stage will reflect the diversity of ethnicities, races, ages, and genders of jazz performers in this region.
